What is threading?
Threading is a natural approach in removing unwanted facial hair. A thread is systematically twisted and pulled along the surface of the skin with the unwanted hair. As the thread rolls along, each hair follicle is lifted up and out from the root in that area, leaving smoother and softer skin behind. It’s fast, precise, and relatively painless as opposed to waxing or tweezing.
How is it better than waxing or tweezing?
Threading normally lasts twice as long as waxing, and you avoid all chemicals. Threading is also fundamentally different from tweezing or plucking. In tweezing, the hair is pulled from the top leaving the possibility of breaking the hair mid-way resulting in ingrown hair. Threading on the other hand, allows for a far more cleaner and long-term approach since the hair is pulled straight from the root. This allows us to even remove ingrown hairs in most cases while preventing them to happen in the first place.
Is it painful?
Threading is relatively painless compared to waxing or tweezing. The first time you get it done, you do feel a slight tingling sensation but that’s only because all the rough hair is being removed from its natural or previously waxed/tweezed state. The hair that grows in after the threading is usually softer and the skin around it is smoother making your next visit a delight.
How long does it take?
Threading time varies from customer to customer and depends on the existing growth and type of arch needed. As a general rule of thumb, it takes almost the same amount of time as waxing. e.g. it takes 5 to 7 minutes for eyebrows
How long will the results last?
Individual hair re-growth rates vary from person to person, but because threading removes each hair from the root, results usually last longer than waxing. Most clients, on average, prefer to come in every 3-4 weeks for a well-maintained and groomed look.
I observed that part of the thread is held in the mouth of the stylists, is this sanitary?
Yes-it is definitely sanitary. The part of the thread that is in stylist’s mouth is never used on anyone’s skin and it never makes contact with the face. It is only meant to keep the thread tightly stretched out for better precision and accuracy in shaping. After each threading session, that part of the thread goes straight to disposal and a new thread is used for the next client.
My skin is very sensitive, will I get red from threading?
If you have sensitive skin, you may experience some redness but it usually subsides within 5-10 minutes. If you feel you have extremely sensitive skin, redness may last for an hour, which is still considerable less than waxing which may bring on redness for days at a time.
What Are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
The application process for lash extensions normally takes about 90-120 minutes for a full set of lashes and 45-60 minutes for a refill. During application, your lower lashes will be covered and the extensions will be applied only to your upper lashes one at a time.
Do I need to do anything prior to my procedure? Please do not wear any eye makeup and do not wear contacts during the procedure. Contacts should be removed prior to procedure.
When applied by professionals, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2 to 4 weeks.
Can I still wear eye makeup? Yes. Water based/ Oil free makeup removers should be used. Any product that is oil based will break down the bonding agent in the adhesive and result in lashes to fall off quicker than expected.
Eyelash extensions are designed to give your natural lashes an improved look of fullness so mascara is not needed. However, you can use water-based mascara.
We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 48 hours of wear. After that 48-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, keeping away from extensive contact with steam such as in saunas or certain facials is recommended since it can begin to loosen the bond.
The suggested time frame is 48 hours. For a guest with sensitivities, it is suggested to wash within the first 12 hours of application.
· Avoid getting lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours · Avoid hot steam or sauna · Do not perm eyelashes or manually curl. · Brush with a clean mascara wand daily. · TIP: Sometimes mornings are a mess! Try washing your lashes in the morning and gently brushing the top side of the extensions with a finger placed beneath.

What is Microblading? Microblading, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done by using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each 'hair' is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look. Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrow and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over tweezed brows. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow color and skin tone will also be taken into consideration.
How long does it take? For the first Microblading session, the entire procedure should take about 2-2.5 hours. During this session, the brow technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure. The client is to come in for a follow up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second Microblading session takes place after 4-6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1-1.5 hours to complete.
How long does it take to heal? The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You'll notice the color is very light right after the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed.
Is the touch up session necessary? Yes! A touch up session after 4-6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment color may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the color for the whole year!
Can I get my touch up session sooner than 4 weeks? Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 4 weeks after initial microblading session as pigment color has not fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.
Is it painful? The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine. After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
How long does it last? Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain.
